It is our pleasure to announce the Arab- German Family Business Summit 2010 which will take place from 6 November until 7 November 2010 at the Kempinski Hotel at the Dead Sea in Jordan. Participation is by invitation only and is tailored exclusively for family members and non-family executives of the most influential family businesses from Austria, Germany, Switzerland, and the Arab World.
By bringing together leading family businesses along with experts in science and practice, the summit serves as a forum in which participants can explore personal and business relationships in the quest to strengthen intercultural exchange. In workshops and conversation rounds, international academics from universities such as Harvard, Yale, and Princeton will specifically address the challenges that confront family businesses in these times of profound structural changes in the global economy. A special focus will be placed on potential partnerships between Arab and German-speaking family businesses in the fields of financing and technology transfer via individually organised face-to-face business talks.
The IIFE is also organizing an extensive cultural programme including a visit of the rock-carved rose-red city of Petra for the summit’s participants and accompanying persons to enable a fascinating and very personal look into this extraordinary country. The City of Petra was chosen as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in 2007 and is a World Heritage Site since 1985.
